Tricyclazole inhibits polyhydroxynapthaline reductase enzyme and thus inhibiting melanin formation in fungi (Pyricularia grisea).In the absence of melanin, appressoria fail to produce penetrating hypha or penetration hypha fails to penetrate into host tissue.Hence disease is not allowed to spread.
